Right-click the VPN connection that you want to change, and then click Properties. When creating a VPN connection on a client machine default settings for VPN is “Use default gateway on remote network”. Currently, on Windows 10 the TCP/IPv4 properties are greyed out because of some bug 🙂 The problem is that you cannot change those IPv4 settings in classic Properties window. In this case, you cannot resolve DNS names in your local network or have Internet access using your internal LAN. If i can clarify, the default behavior when creating a manual VPN connection results in the setting: Networking > IPv4 > Properties > Advanced > IP Settings > "Use default gateway on remote network" to be selected. This is a desired setting i believe in most cases. I've setup an OpenVPN server, clients can connect without any problem, but they still use their existing internet connections, and still have their existing public IP's. How is it possible to basically set "Use default gateway on remote network" to TRUE, on the OpenVPN client side? Thanks in advance!

I connect to a client that uses Cisco's Anyconnect VPN. When I connect, the anyconnect overrides my default gateway, forcing all of my internet traffic thru them. With the VPN client built in to Windows, I could uncheck "use default gateway on remote network" and then manually create some routes go get to machines on that network.
